Nicola Hadfield

Nicola Hadfield, one of South Africa's
best known and internationally recognizable decor experts is a key-note and specials events speaker in this country.
Nicola brings her experience of
business and life in South Africa to life with a range of subjects
from decor trends both locally and internationally, adapting
international trends to SA conditions to talking about the success
story behind the Decorex Exhibition. Describing herself as a decor
commentator, Nicola is in demand as a speaker at various high profile
functions. She is a highly informative, yet relaxed speaker who
peppers her talks with amusing personal anecdotes relating to her
entrepreneurial ventures and in particular her pioneering of the
continent's first ever premier interior design and decor showcase,
Decorex SA.
An instantly recognizable businesswoman
who is perfectly at ease in the public eye, Nicola has won several
awards and professional recognition through her work. She is an
Honorary Life Member of the South African Guild of Interior Designers
(SAGID) for her contribution to decor in SA; was elected to serve on
the executive committee of the Exhibition Association of SA (EXSA) and
is a member of the Businesswoman's Association (BWA). She featured
in the 2004 “Who's Who of Southern Africa”. In 2003 she was voted one
of the “15 Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World” TM by the
US-based Star Group in 2003.
Born and educated in Natal, Nicola has
been involved in the world of South African interior design and decor
for the past 20 years. Prior to founding Decorex SA, she worked in
advertising and PR locally and internationally, ran her own interior
design company and lectured in interior design. She also handled media
planning and advertising for magazines in the Perskor stable and was
involved in production and filming for SABC TV.
She has spoken at various charity
events, exclusive executive women's business events, corporate
lunches, tertiary institutions, and also opened art exhibitions and
decor shops and she was the keynote speaker at the inaugural Designer
of the Year Awards in 2003.
